On August 22, 2006, BC Hydro awarded two long term Energy Purchase Agreements (EPAs) to Hydromax for the development of the Upper Clowhom and Lower Clowhom run-of-river hydro projects. Located on the Clowhom River in the South Coast Mountains approximately 55 km northwest of Vancouver, these two projects are expected to generate 10 MW each.
Hydromax is securing the necessary permits required for development and has established a strong working relationship with the Sechelt Indian Band. The final engineering and design is expected to be completed early in 2007, with site preparation and construction to follow. The commercial operation date will be in late 2009.
Both projects will connect with the BC Hydro Clowhom Generating Station at the outlet of Clowhom Lake utilizing a transmission line that will follow the existing roadway.
Throughout the development of the projects, Hydromax is committed to ensuring that it meets all environmental, government and surrounding community requirements. If you have any questions, please contact us.
